Organizes company’s worldwide product compliance program by preparing timetables, cost estimates, and required resources including test laboratories and equipment • Helps the Lamp Engineering Team deliver products with first-pass success by establishing Design For Compliance rules; reviewing and approving material selection and design decisions, and leading Design For Compliance reviews • Assesses product compliance by establishing compliance test standards; supervising external test labs, ODM test organizations, and sub-contractors; conducting and witnessing tests; performing diagnostic procedures; measuring performance; analyzing and evaluating findings; performing forensic analysis of failures; troubleshooting failures • Attains compliance by isolating and resolving non-compliance issues; recommending product and process changes as required • Reviews all product ECOs for potential impact to compliance, handling research and supplemental testing as required to ensure ongoing compliance is maintained • Documents compliance by completing approval applications; recording test results; preparing investigative reports; preparing and filing Declarations of Conformity; maintaining compliance database • Maintains full ownership of complete compliance test schedule for each assigned product • Supports the Sales and Application Engineering organizations to fulfill requests for compliance records and information • Organizes, manages, and maintains company’s internal compliance test lab • Updates job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging compliance engineering practices and standards; participating in educational opportunities and professional organizations; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks • Represents company to compliance standards bodies, driving for continuous improvement to the standards relevant to LED lighting product
• AS or BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience • Minimum 7 years Compliance Engineering experience in the commercial product development industry, with increasing levels of responsibility • Hands-on detail oriented professional with strong multi-tasking skills and ability to meet challenging schedules. • Willingness to travel overseas up to 8 weeks per year • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to keep track of, clarify, reiterate, escalate if needed, and ensure closure of complex and challenging issues. • Desired: Compliance Engineering experience with lighting products • Desired: Ability to speak and understand Chinese
